Android apps: let’s clarify.
Sailfish OS is not Android, but an alternative OS descended from Meego Harmattan; fortunately it has a module (paid) to run Android apps.
This “Android-Support app” allows you to run apps in .apk format.
Whether it’s a mainstream Android app from Aptoide / Aurora, or whether it’s a FOSS app from F-Droid, you will need the License to run the app.
Visit shop.jolla.com to purchase one of the available licenses. The average price is usually around 49 euros, but Jolla makes discounts on some holidays during the year.
(At the moment it is not possible to buy license and phone together).
Native / “Pure” mode
If you already thought of staying Google-free, the basic version is fully working, with its native apps from Jolla Store and Openrepos.
The XA2 Xperia family is powered by an octa-core 2.2GHz Cortex-A53 CPU processor (the Snapdragon 630) and this makes it much more capable than its predecessor Xperia X, which was basically a 4 + 2 cores, ed. The GPU is an Adreno 508 GPU, enough to handle the workload.
For memory, there are 3 GB of RAM and 32GB of file starting with the usual microSD slot for expansion. (To check, up to 32GB if it was the old Sailfish limit).
The battery is large, non-removable, from 3,300 mAh, more on XA2 plus and ultra; It is also compatible with QuickCharge 2.0
The front cameras is as usual for Sony very good, with a main-room 23MP f / 2.0 apertures, with 2160p / 30fps video recording. The front camera is 8MP, highlighted for its 120 degrees of shooting angle, but with fixed focus. It allows video recording at 1080p / 30fps.

Please consider that unlocking the bootloader and installing SF could void the SONY warranty.
BUT Not everything is lost: it may still be possible to send the phone to Sony, especially in the first year. The IMEI will be the reference for the SONY for international warranty.
Jolla-Devices does not provide an additional warranty to the Sony one, the item is sold as used by Jolla-Devices.
